07/12/2017 - Kartell inspires Christmas 2017 with lifestyle options that will warm your home with the original, witty and innovative style typical of the brand.
At the end of the year, Kartell flagship stores will be decked out in Christmas colours and magic with a forest of red tree silhouettes setting the scene to present all the brand’s Christmas-inspired options.
Five sets will focus on some product groups, offering different interpretations of Christmas, as well as new options and suggestions for the Christmas shopping: a golden table, a collage of both new and traditional objects inspired by the holiday spirit, a living room with a Largo sofa in a special red velvet upholstery, lights creating the magic of Christmas, and, finally, lots of never-before-seen items arriving in stores just for the year end festivities.
Fabio Novembre’s Lantern will light the way on cold winter nights; an original portable LED, transparent, “chargeable”, injection-moulded lamp that charges by placing it onto a wireless base. The light is projected by a graphic effect of the design. Available in the amber, crystal, smoky grey, red and wisteria versions.

Tokujin Yoshioka’s Planet lamp enhances Christmas in its new floor version, available in two heights: 130 and 160 cm. The metal structure’s distinctive trait is the shape of the slightly elliptical diffuser. Its transparent, multi-faceted surface, both inside and out, creates a rich tapestry of reflections. The floor version of the lamp is available in smoky grey/black or transparent/chrome.

Kartell sees Christmas as creativity and style. Among Kartell’s proposals in the catalogue for next Christmas, Fabio Novembre’s EUR stands out, a stool inspired by the EUR in Rome. A cube printed with a replica of the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana architecture, it can be multi-purposed as seat or support and fits into a variety of locations and styles. As such, the newest item in the Kartell collection is timeless, just as the Palazzo has become one of the nation’s most fascinating architectural icons over time.

Instead, lightweight is the operative word for Eugeni Quillet’s new L’Air du Temps clock, where time lightly passes on a plastic surface in three variations: transparent, opaque, and metallic.

Kartell lifestyle also enhances the living room with Philippe Starck’s Blast, a side-table in two shapes (square and rectangular with rounded corners) with clear bases and tops. The design is a development of the Sir Gio table, with the possibilità to match and combine different base and top colours. The central core of the base can be chrome-plated or metallic copper.

Children are the ones who experience the Christmas spirit to the fullest and bask in the enchantment of these magical weeks, where everything is possible...even a night stand that winks and smiles! Componibili Smile is here, Fabio Novembre’s reinterpretation of the icon created by Anna Castelli Ferrieri: Componibili’s classic round hole has been reinterpreted into a winking eye, a nod to the emojis of today. The timeless classic acquires a playful new interpretation that perfectly fits into children’s spaces.
Kartell also inspires the Christmas table, the most important part of the holidays where families spend their time together. Patricia Urquiola’s new Trama tableware collection enhances the holiday table settings this Christmas with a complete set of dishes inspired by Japanese ceramics in sophisticated textures and natural, earthy matte-effect colours. Like the terracotta dish sets used in country homes, the dishes are rough to the touch and feature a graphic that elegantly defines the collection’s minimalist style. A complete set of glasses for water, wine, soft drinks and a pitcher in brilliant colourful or transparent PMMA finishes off the collection. The subdued, delicate and easy-to-match colours allow for varied table settings: creative and unique or more classic and single-colour. Trama Drink features the same classic graphic also found on the plates, elegantly defining the collection’s minimalist style.
