3 questions for he authors of ANGLE coat stand
Schönbuch
met them and asked them three questions: ANGLE coat standWhy do we need designer products in our workplaces?
We spend a lot of time at our desks, so we should design our workplaces as well as possible. Their functionality should support us in our work; their forms should create a stimulating environment, and they should encourage social interaction and informal exchanges. So the question we should really be asking ourselves is: why shouldn’t we use designer items in the workplace?
What makes the perfect piece of office furniture?
Open plan concepts are turning offices into visually diverse environments that accommodate different items of furniture, equipment and utensils as well as personal items. In an environment like this, the majority of furniture should lend structure to complexity and create a sense of coherence and quality. Functional basics can then be complemented with neat, high-quality items, in communications spaces especially – items that break away from classic norms and stand out as a contrast; that create a positive and inspiring environment in part as a sign of appreciation for workers. So, an office should contain different styles of furniture, from systematic “dumb waiters”, as it were, to neat, individual items.
What makes ANGLE so special?
The
ANGLE wardrobe developed by Designstudio speziell® for Schönbuch is a perfect example of their creative teamwor:
A miracle in the functional use of space. Like a sunscreen or windbreak, the ANGLE coat stand can be extended partly or in full, to act as an effective shield or create new spatial concepts wherever needed. All this ingenuity comes in addition to its main purpose: accommodating a large number of garments. Incidentally, the clothing hung up on its hooks or hangers is part of the overall design concept.
The minimalist frame is black powder-coated steel, with 2 small feet that are adjustable in height. There is a set of 5 black plastic hooks as an optional extra. If several coat stands are combined, the interesting visual effect of the “double L” shape is multiplied. Also in this product line: the matching powder-coated umbrella stand, either square or rectangular. Design clarity that leaves plenty of creative scope for a variety of uses.
